How much will my monthly ODR payment be?
The minimum monthly payment for an Office of Debt Recovery payment plan is generally:
5% of the outstanding balance when the payment plan is established or $25, whichever is greater.
Your required monthly payment will be stated in the approved payment-plan agreement. The payment does not decrease each month as your remaining balance is reduced.
ODR may require a higher monthly payment depending on the amount owed or the circumstances of the account.
Examples
| Balance When the Plan Is Established | 5% of Balance | Minimum Monthly Payment |
|---|---|---|
| $300 | $15 | $25 |
| $500 | $25 | $25 |
| $1,000 | $50 | $50 |
| $2,500 | $125 | $125 |
| $5,000 | $250 | $250 |
These examples are estimates. Your monthly payment is not final until ODR reviews and approves your payment-plan request.
Can I Request a Different Payment Amount?
You may request a monthly payment amount when applying for a payment plan. However, the requested amount must meet ODR's minimum payment requirements.
ODR will determine the required monthly payment and include it in your approved agreement.
Can I Pay More Than the Required Amount?
Yes. You may make additional payments or pay the remaining balance in full at any time.
Unless ODR tells you otherwise, an additional payment does not replace your next scheduled monthly payment.
Important Information
- Submitting a payment-plan application does not guarantee approval.
- Your payment plan is not active until ODR approves the request and provides the agreement.
- You must make the full required payment by each due date.
- State tax refunds and other eligible state payments may still be applied to your debt while a balance remains due.
- An ODR payment plan does not remove a driver's license suspension or vehicle registration block issued by the Office of Motor Vehicles.
