Debt with the OMV

Check fines, suspensions, or debts tied to your Louisiana driver’s license.

If you have outstanding fines under your Louisiana driver’s license with the OMV, some of them may have been turned over to ODR. To find out more about this, follow the directions below.

To View a Detailed Listing of Your Fines/Suspensions

  1. Visit: www.expresslane.org
  2. Click "DL CHECK STATUS"
  3. Scroll down and click "LET'S GET STARTED"
  4. Enter your Louisiana driver's license number and the last 4 digits of your SSN
  5. Click "CONTINUE"

This will display any outstanding items tied to your license.

Important Information

  • Fines marked as "Sent to the Office of Debt Recovery" have been transferred to the Louisiana Department of Revenue and may be offset using your state tax return.
  • All other fines must be addressed directly with the OMV using the contact details below.
  • The OMV can help you resolve outstanding fines and may offer payment plans to lift suspensions or blocks on your license.

For inquiry type, select "Installment Agreement or Reinstatement Return Call" if you're requesting a payment plan or a callback.

To Email the OMV with Documentation

  1. Visit: www.expresslane.org
  2. Click "Contact Us" at the top of the homepage
  3. Select "Insurance revocations or violations" as your inquiry type
  4. Fill in your contact information:
    • Name
    • Date of Birth
    • Email Address
    • Mailing Address
    • Phone Number
    • Driver's License Number
  5. Use the "Comments/Questions" box to explain your issue
  6. Attach supporting documents using "Choose File"
  7. Complete the reCAPTCHA
  8. Click "Submit"

Please note: There is no guaranteed time frame for document reviews submitted to the OMV.

Fix My Flags

The fastest way to remove a suspension or flag on your Louisiana driver's license is to make payment arrangements with the OMV.

ODR cannot remove flags from your driver's license.
